Who Wants an Online Book Club?

I’m breaking my usual Silent Sunday rule! We’ve been having some chatter about starting an online book club through my blog.

I’ve had a word with my techie expert (hello Jan!) to see how we can start a page that can be sub-divided into separate books and their comments, so we don’t have thousands of comments about all the books in one long stream.

Jan will do her usual magic and get back to me, so if anyone out there would really like this to go ahead, please comment on this blog post so I have a rough idea of whether it is a good idea to launch ‘Reading Between The Wines’?

Maybe thinking about doing one book a month to stretch our MS-foggy minds? So let me know (and please spread the word!!) and we’ll see where it takes us…..

      Hey Scot!
Yay, my first book-clubber!! This is exactly what we were thinking – a book club for people who can’t /aren’t able /don’t have enough time to go to a physical book club. But definitely not only for MSers – also open to anyone who fancies it, so invite him along. There’s a whole bunch of friendly people I have ‘met’ through this blog so would be good to do something social! Wine is mandatory, lol.
Tomorrow’s guest blogger is brilliant, just like you!

      Hi Nicole!
Excellent – so far we definitely have enough numbers for it to go ahead, but more always welcome!

interested to see how this goes – “real” book clubs turn into a bit of ‘who can shout the loudest’ cock fight. please note: my reading time can be dependent on the vagaries /moodswings / sleep patterns of my 21 month old daughter

      Hey Steve
You must have been at my last book club, lol. It descended into shouty matches about politics, fueled by wine. Am sure our online one will be better!
At least this way, we can fit it round everything else, including 21 month olds, bless you.

      Hi Anita!
Everyone welcome – we’ll give ourselves a month to read the book we choose, so no pressure, promise!

      Hi Scot,
Great timing! In discussion with Jan, the wonder-techie-expert. Seems it isn’t as simple as it looks. We may need to set up a private club at http://www.bookclubit.com and manage it that way. Take a look and see what you think? Would be great to have moderators to run it alongside l’il ole me.
We could easily order book from amazon and they do free 3-5 day delivery. If we have a month of discussion, plenty of time.
I’m really excited too.I don’t get out much, lol. Good to be part of a community.
